Service Time Correction

Holy Week Services at the Community of St. Mary
The times published for the Holy Week services in The Albany Episcopalian were incorrect. The correct times are as follows:
Maundy Thursday Eucharist - 4:30 p.m.
Easter Vigil on Saturday April 15th - 7:30 p.m.
Easter Morning Eucharist - 10:00 a.m.

St. Matthew Passion
The choir of St. Peter's Church, 107 State St, Albany, NY 12207, will perform the St. Matthew Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach on Good Friday, April 14th at 1:00 p.m..

Mass in B Minor and The Messiah

Conference Opportunity

Chains Be Broken Conference
The conference Chains Be Broken: Understanding the Effects of Pornography and Working Towards a Solution will be held on Saturday, April 22nd from 8:15 a.m until 5:00 p.m. at The Church of the Messiah, 296 Glen St # 1, Glens Falls, NY 12801. Speakers will be Dr. William Struthers, Professor of Psychology at Wheaton College and author; Jessica Harris, blogger and author; and Audrey Assad, author, speaker, producer, and critically lauded songwriter and musician. Substance Use Prevention
The Northeastern New York Prevention Cooperative is presenting a one-day workshop entitled Engaging the Faith Community in Substance Use Prevention on Thursday, April 27th from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Christ Church, UMC, 35 State St. Troy, NY 12180. Key Leaders in the Faith Community along with Coalition Members will gain valuable insight into intergrating substance use prevention into the faith community. Attendees will be offered a toolbox of ideas and real world applications for assisting in the work of prevention. The cost for the workshop is $10 and lunch will be provided. Healing a Woman's Soul
Healing a Woman's Soul is offering a free one-day workshop entitled Hearts Broken, Hearts Healed on Saturday, May 6th from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at St. Stephen's Church, 1229 Baker Ave, Schenectady, NY 12309. Confirmation Opportunity

Regional Confirmation
A spring Regional Confirmation Service will be held at The Cathedral of All Saints on Saturday, May 13th at 11:00 a.m. (This is a date change from what was published in The Albany Episcopalian). If you are clergy in charge of a parish or a warden at a parish without clergy and you are planning on presenting confirmands or individuals to be received into the Episcopal Church, please forward the names of those to be confirmed so that they are received in the office by Monday, May 7th. In order to be confirmed, each confirmand must write a letter to Bishop Love which both confirms his or her faith and indicates his or her desire to be confirmed by the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands. These letters need to be received by the Bishop at the Diocesan offices no later than Thursday, May 4th. For more detailed guidelines for the letters to the Bishop, click here. On May 13th, Bishop Love will meet with the confirmands before the service around 9:45 a.m., depending on how many people are being confirmed. Cathedral of All Saints

Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys
The Cathedral Choir of Men & Boys will be performing their spring concert on Tuesday, April 25th at 7:00 p.m. at The Cathedral of All Saints, 62 S. Swan St., Albany, NY 12210. The choir will be performing Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass (Mass for Troubled Times). They will be joined by members of the Arcadia Players and guest soloists, with all being directed by Woodrow Bynum, Director of Music. Tickets are available online here, or by calling (800) 838-3006. (If you purchased tickets for the original concert date, they will be honored at the April 25th concert).

Healing Service
Christ Church, 70 Mansion St, Coxsackie, NY 12051, will be hosting a healing service on Wednesday, April 12th at 7:00 p.m. The service is intended to be Spirit-led and generally includes music, a short talk and prayer. Everyone is welcome. Come and bring a hurting friend.


Healing Center at CtK

Healing Service Preacher - The Rev. Jacob Evans
The Guest Preacher for the Service of Healing at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center on Tuesday, April 18th will be The Rev. Jacob Evans, Rector at St. Matthew's, Latham. You can read his full bio here. The Healing service includes inspirational music and praise, powerful testimonies about the healing power of Jesus Christ, and phenomenal teaching and preaching. At the end of the service, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is available as well as personal ministry with a prayer team. Individual Prayer Sessions are also offered by appointment for those who would like to receive more intensive prayer ministry. The service begins at 10 a.m. in the Oratory Chapel. A buffet lunch is available for purchase ($11 including tax) in the dining room of the Welcome Center beginning at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Twelve Step Opportunity

Twelve Step Mass
St. Paul's Church, 6 Silvester Street, Kinderhook, NY 12106 will host a 12-step Eucharist on Saturday, April 22nd at 5:30 p.m. in Saint Benedict's chapel in the McNary Center. The 12 Steps are a healthy spirituality for anyone — you need not identify as alcoholic, addict, or codependent, attend a twelve-step group, or follow the steps in order to benefit from the Eucharist. Come and bring a family member, friend, neighbor, or acquaintance. Anonymity is respected. Prayer for the healing of any affliction is also available. Training Opportunity

Alzheimer's Workshop for Faith Leaders
Keeping Faith in Mind, a workshop for leaders of faith communities, will be held on Monday, May 8th from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Church, 34 Elm St, Malone, NY 12953. This program is designed to provide basic information that everyone needs to know about memory loss issues and what they mean for all of us, as well as practical tips for creating dementia-friendly communities of faith. Chaplains, clergy, pastoral care coordinators, parish nurses, and care givers should attend this informative workshop. The program is free, but registration is required as space is limited.
