Online Votes Needed

St. John's, Johnstown's NOAH program
St. John's Church, 1 N Market St, Johnstown, NY 12095 is competing to win a grant of up to $100,000 from USA Today to help kick-off fundraising for the NOAH (Needy or Alone and Hungry) program. This program serves about 150 meals per week to the hungry in Johnstown. In order to help St. John's win the grant, they need as many votes as they can possibly get. Voting is done online, and you can vote once a day until May 12th. St. John's will find out if they are a finalist for the grant after May 12th. The first time you vote, you will be asked for your first name, last name, date of birth, email address, and zip code. The system will then send an email to the email you provide, and you can vote each day using the link in the email. (In order to vote, the requested information must be provided). Substance Use Prevention
The Northeastern New York Prevention Cooperative is presenting a one-day workshop entitled Engaging the Faith Community in Substance Use Prevention on Thursday, April 27th from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Christ Church, UMC, 35 State St. Troy, NY 12180. Key Leaders in the Faith Community along with Coalition Members will gain valuable insight into intergrating substance use prevention into the faith community. Attendees will be offered a toolbox of ideas and real world applications for assisting in the work of prevention. The cost for the workshop is $10 and lunch will be provided. Cathedral of All Saints

Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys
The Cathedral Choir of Men & Boys will be performing their spring concert on Tuesday, April 25th at 7:00 p.m. at The Cathedral of All Saints, 62 S. Swan St., Albany, NY 12210. The choir will be performing Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass (Mass for Troubled Times). Healing Service Preacher - The Rev. Mike Neufeld
The Guest Preacher for the Service of Healing at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center on Tuesday, April 25th will be The Rev. Mike Neufeld, Rector of St. Andrew's, Scotia. You can read his full bio here. The Healing service includes inspirational music and praise, powerful testimonies about the healing power of Jesus Christ, and phenomenal teaching and preaching. At the end of the service, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is available as well as personal ministry with a prayer team. Individual Prayer Sessions are also offered by appointment for those who would like to receive more intensive prayer ministry. The service begins at 10 a.m. in the Oratory Chapel. A buffet lunch is available for purchase ($11 including tax) in the dining room of the Welcome Center beginning at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Twelve Step Opportunity

Twelve Step Mass
St. Paul's Church, 6 Silvester Street, Kinderhook, NY 12106 will host a 12-step Eucharist on Saturday, April 22nd at 5:30 p.m. in Saint Benedict's chapel in the McNary Center. The 12 Steps are a healthy spirituality for anyone — you need not identify as alcoholic, addict, or codependent, attend a twelve-step group, or follow the steps in order to benefit from the Eucharist. Come and bring a family member, friend, neighbor, or acquaintance. Anonymity is respected. Prayer for the healing of any affliction is also available. Godly Play at Oaks
The Ven. Dr. Leander Harding, Dean of the Cathedral of All Saints, will lead a demonstration of Godly Play at Oaks of Righteousness, 3027 6th Ave, Troy, NY 12180, on April 29th at 10:00 am. Based on Montessori principles, the Godly Play approach helps children to explore their faith through story, gain religious language, and enhance their spiritual experience though wonder, play and interactive learning. Alzheimer's Workshop for Faith Leaders
Keeping Faith in Mind, a workshop for leaders of faith communities, will be held on Monday, May 8th from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Church, 34 Elm St, Malone, NY 12953. This program is designed to provide basic information that everyone needs to know about memory loss issues and what they mean for all of us, as well as practical tips for creating dementia-friendly communities of faith. Chaplains, clergy, pastoral care coordinators, parish nurses, and care givers should attend this informative workshop. The program is free, but registration is required as space is limited.
