Job Opportunities

Accounting Manager
The Diocese is seeking a highly organized, proven professional Accounting Manager. The preferred candidate will have a 4-year accounting degree with hands-on not-for-profit accounting experience. The successful candidate will be skilled in using fund accounting software as well as investment software. Responsibilities include: General Ledger analysis and oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, investment trust accounting, month-end adjustments, and reconciliation of monthly bank statements. Additional responsibilities include analytical review of all accounting activity, preparation of monthly financial statements, board presentations, weekly cash management, budget preparation, forecasting, being the direct contact for the Diocese's auditing firm, supervision of all accounting staff members, and oversight of all accounting for Christ the King Spiritual Life Center, working closely with the Christ the King Director and staff. The successful candidate must pass a comprehensive background check. The Diocese offers a competitve salary and benefits package. Nursery Attendant
St. John's Church, 146 1st St, Troy, NY 12180 is seeking an additional Nursery Attendant for Sundays from 9:45 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. during the school year and 8:45 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. during the summer. 149th Convention

It's time to shine! The 149th Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Albany is coming up on Friday, June 9th through Sunday, June 11th at Camp of the Woods in Speculator. Our theme this year is Shine!, based on Matthew 5:16. We'll have all sorts of workshops for you to help you get your shine on! Dads will learn I-CAN shine. You can learn how to let your light shine on the youth of our parishes through vibrant youth ministry and through Bible studies. You can learn how the light of Jesus is shining in South Sudan. Convention Vendor/Exhibitor Sign Up

Camp of the Woods has done more remodeling to their facility, and the Exhibit Hall will be placed in a new building with greater visibility. Worship Opportunities

Spanish Mass
The Cathedral of All Saints, 62 South Swan Street, Albany, NY 12210 will host a Spanish Mass (or “Misa”) on Saturday, May 6th at 5:00 p.m. in the Cathedral’s Lady Chapel. This mass, held regularly on the first Saturday of each month, will be celebrated by the Rev. William Hinrichs, a native Spanish speaker. Following the mass, volunteer bilingual immigration attorneys will be available to speak to worshipers about immigration matters, political asylum, and other concerns especially important to the Capital Region's Spanish-speaking community. Morning Prayer and Benediction
St. Ann's, 37 Division St, Amsterdam, NY 12010 will celebrate Morning Prayer with Benediction on Thursday, May 11th at 10:00 a.m. This will be a combination of quiet meditation and prayer before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and Morning Prayer, concluding with Benediction.

Healing Services
Christ Church, 70 Mansion St, Coxsackie, NY 12051, will be hosting a healing service on Wednesday, May 10th at 7:00 p.m. The service is intended to be Spirit-led and generally includes music, a short talk and prayer. Everyone is welcome. Come and bring a hurting friend.

St. Ann's, 37 Division St, Amsterdam, NY 12010 will be celebrating a Healing Eucharist on Saturday, May 13th at 4:00 p.m. This service will begin with contemporary praise and worship music and the Eucharist will be celebrated. ​The preacher will be Fr. Scott Evans. Prayer will be offered for those in need of healing or any other needs and reconciliation (confession) will also be offered.

Bible Study Opportunity

Entrusted: A Study of 2 Timothy
St. Mary's Church, 220 Lake Ave, Lake Luzerne, NY 12846 will be studying the Bible using Beth Moore's Entrusted: A Study of 2 Timothy. The course is 6 weeks long and begins on Tuesday, May 16th. Participants will meet each Tuesday through June 20th from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. in the parish hall. The member book is $16, including shipping, but the member book is not required to participate in the study. Books must be ordered by May 7th. Sacred Sites Open House
St. James’ Church, 172 Ottawa St, Lake George, NY 12845 is participating in the 2017 New York Landmark's Conservancy's seventh annual Sacred Sites Open House. The theme of the Open House this year is Stained Glass: Windows on this World and the Next. St. James' will be hosting an open house on Saturday, May 20th from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 21st from noon until 3:00 p.m. This event will showcase St. James' historic church with a focus on their beautiful stained glass windows. There will be a presentation in the Parish Hall at 1:00 pm both days. Admission is free.

St. John's, Johnstown's NOAH program
St. John's Church, 1 N Market St, Johnstown, NY 12095 is competing to win a grant of up to $100,000 from USA Today to help kick-off fundraising for the NOAH (Needy or Alone and Hungry) program. This program serves about 150 meals per week to the hungry in Johnstown. In order to help St. John's win the grant, they need as many votes as they can possibly get. Voting is done online, and you can vote once a day until May 12th. St. John's will find out if they are a finalist for the grant after May 12th. The first time you vote, you will be asked for your first name, last name, date of birth, email address, and zip code. The system will then send an email to the email you provide, and you can vote each day using the link in the email. (In order to vote, the requested information must be provided). Mudge Update

The Revs. Shaw and Julie Mudge
Fr. Shaw and Mtr. Julie Mudge have been exceedingly grateful for all the financial support and prayers while they were missionaries in various foreign countries. They would like you to know that they are back in the United States. Fr. Shaw is currently Interim Rector at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in South Windsor, Connecticut, and Mtr. Julie is currently a certified Chaplain at Prospect Manchester Hospital in Manchester, Connecticut. They continue to be canonically resident in the Diocese of Albany.

Healing Center at CtK

Healing Service Preacher - The Rev. Brad Jones
The Guest Preacher for the Service of Healing at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center on Tuesday, May 9th will be The Rev. Brad Jones, Rector of Christ Church, Schenectady. You can read his full bio here. The Healing service includes inspirational music and praise, powerful testimonies about the healing power of Jesus Christ, and phenomenal teaching and preaching. At the end of the service, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is available as well as personal ministry with a prayer team. Individual Prayer Sessions are also offered by appointment for those who would like to receive more intensive prayer ministry. The service begins at 10 a.m. in the Oratory Chapel. A buffet lunch is available for purchase ($11 including tax) in the dining room of the Welcome Center beginning at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Healing the Family Day Retreat

National Day of Prayer

Groundbreaking Opportunity

Ministry and Community Center
St. Paul's Church 464 River St., Bloomville, NY 13739 will have a groundbreaking and reception for their new Ministry and Community Center on May 6th at 2:30 p.m. with Bishop Love leading the event. Upon completion, the new building will support a food pantry, a free clothing shop, a veteran's information center, free health and nutrition classes, an after school program, and a Nar-Anon Support Group. Training Opportunity

Alzheimer's Workshop for Faith Leaders
Keeping Faith in Mind, a workshop for leaders of faith communities, will be held on Monday, May 8th from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Church, 34 Elm St, Malone, NY 12953. This program is designed to provide basic information that everyone needs to know about memory loss issues and what they mean for all of us, as well as practical tips for creating dementia-friendly communities of faith. Chaplains, clergy, pastoral care coordinators, parish nurses, and care givers should attend this informative workshop. The program is free, but registration is required as space is limited. Diaconal Ordinations

Time Adjustment
The ordinations to the Sacred Order of Deacons will take place on Saturday, June 3rd at the Cathedral of All Saints, 62 South Swan Street, Albany, NY 12210. Due to anticipated traffic difficulties arising from street closures for the Freihofer Run for Women, the time of the ordinations has been changed to 2:00 p.m.
