Convention

Get Ready for 150!
The 149th Convention of the Episcopal Diocese is now behind us - and what a Convention it was! We had Bishops from all over the world, exciting, informative, contemplative workshops, great worship and great weather! But it's never too early to start planning for next year - especially since next year will be the 150th anniversary of the formation of the Episcopal Diocese of Albany. And we've got a very exciting special guest coming - The Most Reverend Michael Curry, Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church! So mark your calendars now! Next year's convention will be Friday, June 8th - 10th, 2018 at Camp-of-the-Woods. We'll see you there!

Strawberry Opportunity

Strawberry Festival
St. John's Church, 98 Main Street, Richfield Springs, NY 13439 is hosting its annual Strawberry Festival on Thursday, June 29th from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on the front lawn. Come enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, macaroni salad, and of course strawberry shortcake! Conference Opportunity

Diocesan Mission Conference
The 2017 Diocesan Mission Conference is scheduled for Saturday, September 23rd at St. John's Church, 10 Church St, Essex, NY 12936. The theme for the Conference is Be the light. Let it shine. The day will include Missions reports and informative workshops that will discuss working within Mission teams, choosing a mission that is right for you, dealing with hidden prejudices, finding funding for missions, and building and maintaining a successful mission. The Missions Committee invites all parishes in the Diocese to consider giving a report on the mission work that is being done by their churches. If you live far from Essex, you can still participate! Accommodations can be arranged with St. John's parishioners for Friday and/or Saturday nights. Nursery Attendant
St. John's Church, 146 1st St, Troy, NY 12180 is seeking an additional Nursery Attendant for Sundays from 9:45 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. during the school year and 8:45 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. during the summer. Office Manager/Rector's Assistant
St. Stephen's Church, 16 Elsmere Ave., Delmar, NY 12054 is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Office Manager and Rector's assistant. The ideal candidate must be well-organized and possess proficiency with computers, the internet, and standard office equipment. The Office Manager is responsible for production of parish communication materials including bulletins, newsletters, schedules, etc. S/he would also assist the Rector in keeping the records and files of the church, keeping the Church calendar up-to-date including building usage, and would provide office coverage. Due to unforseen circumstances, the Holy Yoga class scheduled for Saturday, June 24th at St. James' Church, 172 Ottawa St, Lake George, NY 12845 has been cancelled. However, many other classes await you! Join St. James' Tuesdays for Slow Flow and Thursdays for Chair Flow, both at 9:30 am. Wind down your day on Tuesdays with a Gentle Flow at 6:00 pm. Meet with Jesus on your mat!

Healing Center at CtK

Healing Service Preacher - The Rev. Kathy Alonge-Coons
The Guest Preacher for the Service of Healing at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center on Tuesday, June 27th will be the Rev. Kathy Alonge-Coons. You can read her full bio here. The Healing service includes inspirational music and praise, powerful testimonies about the healing power of Jesus Christ, and phenomenal teaching and preaching. At the end of the service, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is available as well as personal ministry with a prayer team. Individual Prayer Sessions are also offered by appointment for those who would like to receive more intensive prayer ministry. The service begins at 10 a.m. in the Oratory Chapel. A buffet lunch is available for purchase ($11 including tax) in the dining room of the Welcome Center beginning at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Day of Quiet and Healing
On Saturday, June 24th from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. the Center for Healing and Spiritual Formation is hosting a Day of Quiet and Healing at the Oratory. The day will include anointing, soaking prayer, and Reconciliation (confession). For more information, click here.

Calvary's Summer Concert Series
Calvary Church, 85 Lake Hill Rd, Burnt Hills, NY 12027 will host the Burnt Hills Melody Makers (swing music and much, much more) for an outdoor concert on Monday, June 26th at 6:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to everyone. Church Anniversary
On Sunday, June 25th, The Church of St. John in the Wilderness, 261 Route 344, Copake Falls, NY 12517 will celebrate its 165th anniversary. The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with coffee and donuts at the Iron Works, 99 Valley View Rd, Copake Falls NY 12517, followed by a parade to the church at 9:00 a.m. A service will follow the parade at the church at 10:00 a.m., and the service will be followed by a Community Picnic at 11:15 a.m. with live music featuring the Bash Bish Bluegrass Band. Everyone is invited!

Healing a Woman's Soul

Women's Retreat
Do you ever need encouragement? Are you constantly critiquing yourself for your mistakes? Do you look like you've got it all together, while inside your're a wreck? Then come to the Healing a Woman's Soul (HAWS) women's retreat entitled I'm OK and I'm on the way September 8th - 9th, where you will get help to heal from emotional abuse. The retreat is overnight Friday through Saturday after supper. The retreat will explore God's vision for healing the broken-hearted. The retreat will be held at the Dominican Retreat Center, Light refreshments will be offered Friday night. Cost is $120 per person, and limited scholarships are available. Fundraiser
An evening to benefit Healing a Woman's Soul (HAWS), entitled Anything Chocolate... will be hosted by St. Paul's Church, 21 Hackett Blvd, Albany, NY 12208 October 21st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will be a dessert buffet, silent auction, the second annual Paula award for a volunteer helping victims of domestic violence, and an "Anything Chocolate..." Contest. "Anything Chocolate..." contest entries are due no later than October 21st at 5:00 p.m. at St. Paul's. Please bring entries the size of a small pie or 8 cookies or muffins, in other words 6 servings. Please use disposable plates as no plates will be returned. The cost for the event is $20.
