ALBANY COUNSELING SERVICE STAFF

PETER MINUCCI, JR., LCSW, M.ED, BCD: Executive Director of The Counseling Service, Peter has more than three decades of experience, specializing in individual, couples and family psychotherapy. His training includes psychodynamic and family systems approaches, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and hypnotherapy. He has worked in both in and outpatient settings, and is a Board Certified Clinical Social Worker and Certified School Social Worker.

KIM PANARO, LCSW-R: With degrees in both social work and religious studies, Kim has worked with children and families for more than 20 years. She has extensive experience as a psychotherapist in the areas of eating disorders, substance abuse, trauma, grief and depression. She is also a Certified School Social Worker whose background includes special education and school consultation.

ELLEN ELTING, LMSW: Ellen has spent 20 years working with couples and families in out-patient settings, family counseling programs, and residential treatment centers, helping people cope with the effects of sexual and physical abuse.

Estella Williamson, LCSW-R: A Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist, Estella is experienced in treating mental health disorders, behavioral disorders in children, and family therapy. Her clinical service specialties include mental health and wellness, sexuality issues, cultural competence and women's health issues.

LYNNE ANDERSON, LCSW: Lynne is a Licensed Social Worker with a Masters Degree in Social Work from Smith College School of Social Work, where she wrote a thesis on the resiliency of women who experienced childhood abuse in subsequent substance abuse recovery programs. Ccontinuing her post-graduate education in the field of trauma, she was awarded a certification in Trauma Counseling from the University of Buffalo School of Social Work and has certifications in Level I and II  EMDR.  She is currently enrolled in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Certification program, a body-oriented talk therapy that integrates verbal techniques with body-centered interventions in the treatment of trauma, attachment and developmental issues.

DEBRA REYNOLDS, MS, CAS (School-based Consultant): For twenty-five years, Debra has worked as a school psychologist and educational consultant. She holds a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology and a certificate of advanced study in school psychology. She specializes in assessing both learning disabilities and Asperger's Syndrome and in school-based consultation .

Michael Nichols, PhD, Psychology (Consultant to the Counseling Service): Professor of Pschology at the College of William & Mary, Mike is a well-known family therapist and popular speaker who has appeared on several national television programs. He has authored more than a dozen books, including: "The Lost Art of Listening", "Stop Arguing with Your Kids", and "Family Therapy Concepts and Methods."
