Mission Statement of the Albany Episcopal Diocese Mission Board
Our Guiding Principle : We will be faithful to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
Our Group Description: We are members of the Mission Board of the Albany Episcopal Diocese appointed by the Bishop of Albany because of our devotion to spreading the Word of God. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit, committed to sharing God’s love in Jesus Christ and eager to proclaim His Kingdom with whom ever we communicate and visit.
Our Purpose: We willprovide a forum for missions. We will empower, equip, encourage, and evangelize throughout the Episcopal Diocese of Albany for local, regional, national and international missions.
Our Goals for 2009:
- We will seek to establish mission committees in every church in the diocese.
- We will support, educate and facilitate the parishes of the Albany Diocese to organize and participate in local mission activities as well as short term and long term missionary opportunities both near and far. We will produce a Handbook for Missions to assist in this goal.
- We will actively initiate and encourage prayer support for mission operations at home and away
