The Congregation of St. David's Church, East Greenbush

is carrying on the work of the Albany Refugee Resettlement Ministry that Father Jim and Pat Kenyon have been committed to over the last 20 years.  There is a large Burmese refugee community in the cities of Albany, Rensselaer and Troy who have basic needs that need to be met and Jesus Christ is filling some of those needs through St. David's. Burman, Karen, Chin, and Mon, all Burmese ethnic groups, some of whom have spent years in refugee camps in Thailand, come to this country ill prepared for life in the cold Northeast, half a world away from their homes. St. David's assists them with aid in finding furniture, clothing, blankets and helps to supply food when it is in short supply. The Members of the congregation help refugees with English language skills and provides them with computer skills training to aid them in finding good jobs. The need is great and God has been generous in calling enthusiastic Christians to be involved in serving His people from Southeast Asia.

Please contact Fr. Jim Kenyon, 518-426-8296, or Deacon James Brisbin, 607-287-1092 for additional information.
