Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! Now if I could just find something green to wear...

Bishop Dan is preaching today at Down Patrick in Northern Ireland. He and Carol will be home this Sunday. They combined vacation and ministry, and we prayed they are both refreshed from their trip.

Thanks to all who prayed for the meeting of the House of Bishops and for my participation there. I have just written an article to you about the meeting, and it is up on the Homepage of our Website - Episcopal Diocese of Albany NY - Bp Herzog's Priests and Deacons Update. The meeting was in Texas, out on the plains. I don't like jogging hills, so this was a good experience for me. I found some time each day to get out in the sun, and pommel the earth with my jogging shoes. Unfortunately, while I was gone, Mary Ellen, coming out of a bible study back in New York State, slipped on black ice, and broke the bone right below the shoulder socket. Friends got her to the emergency room, and then took care of her until I could get an early flight home. She is doing well now, but has to wear a special sling which restricts movement, allowing time for the bone to heal itself. Thanks for prayers for healing. She is feeling better today.

Holy Week is upon us. I would humbly ask you to participate in Holy Week worship services and classes. "Walk the Dolorosa with our Lord" by reading all four Gospel accounts of the Passion and Resurrection, go to the services at your parish and at the Cathedral if you can. If it is within range, come to the Christ the King Spiritual Life Center for an EARLY Easter Vigil at 5 a.m. on Easter Sunday. Breakfast follows.

My best to all of you.

Bishop Dave
