Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Bishop Dave reports that last Sunday, St Paul's, Bloomville was overfilled for the ordination of the Rev'd Linda Wilson. An outstanding sermon was preached by the Rev'd Dr. Richard Knudsen. Mtr Linda continues to welcome our prayers in her battle with cancer. Last Sunday Bp Dave was at Christ Church, Walton in the morning and reports a great visit where Mtr Sue Cole is doing a fine job. I was at Christ Church, Herkimer for a fully attended Liturgy including the renewal of wedding vows by Fr Paul and Pat Bailey. Attendance continues to climb. A lovely reception followed. The journey there was slower as we woke to a fresh snowfall at home. Seemed early for winter snows.
Wednesday the Capital Area clergy group came to the SLC for lunch and a tour. Thanks to Fr Brad Jones for inviting them.
The Men's Cursillo weekend began last evening and continues through Sunday afternoon. I look forward to giving the talk on the Sacraments tomorrow and celebrating the Eucharist. Bishop Dave will be in attendance at the Closing Service. Please pray for all these men. Cursillo has made a definite impact on the individual lives of the participants as well as parish vitality.
CLERGY HOLY HOUR: is ordinarily at Christ the King SLC on the 1st Tuesday. For November it will be transferred to occur during the Priest's Retreat. But since Tuesday, Nov 1, is the Feast of All Saints, a principal feast, Mass will be celebrated at Noon in the main Chapel. Guests, staff and visitors are welcome.
Healing the Shepherds: Led by the Rev'd Nigel Mumford. Nov 2-3 @ $79.
Training for Lay Eucharist Ministers. The School for Apostolic Action is offering a class on Lay Eucharist Ministers at CTK SLC on Saturday, November 12 from 9 – 3:33. $15 per person, including lunch. The Venerable Barbara Hanstine and the Venerable Harvey Huth, diocese archdeacons, are our instructors.
Priests' Retreat: Nov 15 - 18. Some scholarship aid is available, along with assistance for childcare.
A Saint Nicholas Day celebration will be held on his feast day, December 6th for the Retired Clergy, Spouses and Widow(er)s at the SLC.
Next Sunday Bp Dave will be at Holy Cross, Warrensburg where Canon King has announced his plans to retire early next year. I will be at St Paul's, Salem. The next week Bp Dave will be at Saratoga and I will be at Whitehall.

If your parish is presenting individuals, please email their full name and whether they are to be confirmed or received to the host parish, (cc:Jerry Carroll) by the Monday preceding the service. This will facilitate having their name in the bulletin, preparation of their certificate, and planning for the reception following the service.
