Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Father Steve Scarcia fell on Christmas and severely injured his arm/shoulder and will be undergoing surgery. Please keep Fr Steve in your prayers.

Bp Tom Shaw of Massachusetts in recovering from viral spinal meningitis and is in need of our prayers.

A theological conference on divine impassibility, that is, how God suffers, is being held March 30/31 in Providence, R.I. at Providence College. You can check out the content at http://www.providence.edu/divineimpassibility. The down side is that it is the Fri/Sat prior to Palm Sunday. Cost is $25.

Father Dan Moore remains in a coma at Fletcher-Allen Medical Center in Burlington, but email addressed to him is given to Pat, and she reads each one to him. In your email address put Patient.Messages@vtmednet.org; in the Subject line, type Father T. Daniel Moore.

The Community of Saint Mary at Christ the King SLC, marks the 142nd Anniversary of its foundation on Friday, Feb 2, the Feast of the Presentation (and in earlier Prayer Books "Commonly Called the Purification of St Mary the Virgin".) The Mass that day in the Convent Chapel will be at 11:00 a.m. and all the Associates and friends of the Sisters are invited to attend.

Next Sunday, Jan 28, Bishop Bill will be at Zion Church, Hudson Falls for a 9:15 visitation. I will be at Christ Church, Gilbertsville to ordain Joseph Acanfora to the Diaconate at 11:00 a.m.

The Parish Leadership Conferences run in sequence this coming weekend:
Friday, Jan 26, beginning at 5:30pm with Evensong at The Welcome Center, Christ the King Spiritual Life Center. Supper included.
Saturday, Jan 27, beginning with Coffee at 9:30 at the Great Hall, SLC. Lunch included.
Sunday, Jan 28, beginning at 3pm at Christ Church, Cooperstown. Supper included.
Bishop Dave and I will each be doing one of the Teachings. Bishop Dave and I along with Mary Ellen and Carol look forward to seeing many of you.
Bishop Dave will be away at a meeting Mon-Wed of next week. I will celebrate my final Eucharist as bishop on Wednesday, Jan 31 at Noon in the cathedral.

The Standing Committee meets Monday, Feb 5, beginning with Mass at 11:30.

The February (pre-Lent) Eucharistic Holy Hour, is Thursday, Feb 8th, at 10:30 in the Convent Chapel. Lunch follows.

The Commission on the Ministry meets on Saturday, Feb 10 from 9am - 3pm at the SLC.

LENT begins with Ash Wednesday, Feb 21, a Prayer Book FAST Day.

LORD JESUS, bless this whole Diocese, its clergy and people: keep us constant in the faith once delivered to the saints, confirm us as disciples, deepen our charity and expand our mission; strengthen our young people in loyalty to you, comfort the afflicted and heal the sick and broken-hearted. Join us to the company of all your saints in the praise of your holy Name. Amen.
