Bishop Love began a two week vacation today, Monday, after a full weekend. He will be back in the office for routine business on Tuesday, August 18.
This weekend, he and Fr Nigel Mumford participated in the annual summer weekend retreat hosted by Christ Church, Morristown at Wadham’s Hall in Ogdensburg. Over 70 folks from Northern New York and other states attended. The Retreat closed with Eucharist on Sunday at Christ Church on Sunday and the Bishop’s visitation. Following lunch, Bishop Love was off to Zion Church, Colton to celebrate the 125 th anniversary of the consecration of the church in 1884 by the first bishop of our diocese, Bishop Doane.

Wednesday, August 5 th at 11:00am is the “ Welcome Home Initiative” Closing Ceremonyat Christ the King Chapel, Christ the King Spiritual Life Center. Our Welcome Home Initiative retreat program will have 18 veterans and their family attending. At the conclusion of the retreat, we offer an opportunity for each of us to say “thank you” and “welcome home” to these military men and who have served in previous wars and those who are still active. We invite the public to come to this special closing ceremony! Join us to applaud and thank these men for serving our country. Lunch at Christ the King is available for anyone who would like to stay for lunch, we ask you to contact the Welcome Center to make a reservation, so we can plan food accordingly. Lunch is $8.50 + tax.

The Faith Alive National Board is meeting at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center August 6 - 9th. The public is invited to attend the Board meeting all day Friday, August 7 and Saturday AM until about 1:00 PM. Board members are free Saturday afternoon to visit with old friends and those who have experienced a Faith Alive weekend or are interested in Faith Alive. Everyone is invited to attend Eucharist and social hour Saturday evening starting about 7:00 PM.

Diocesan Holy Hour and Benediction for the month of August will take place in St. Mary's Chapel at the CSM Convent in Greenwich on Thursday, August 13 at 10:30 am. Lunch ($8.50) will be available in the Trinity Dining Room of the SLC following the Holy Hour.

For parishes in the Albany area, The Capital City Rescue Mission’s new Faith Family Center needs leaning supplies!
What better way to help a family start anew than to have the cleaning supplies they need?! Here are a few pressing needs that you can help fulfill for New Faith Family Center :
- dish soap - glass cleaner
- liquid laundry detergent - toilet bowl cleaner
- all purpose spray cleaner - clorox wipes
- dusting spray
If you and your church group, business, or school would like to collect cleaning supplies for the Family Center, please contact Sue @ 462-0421 or sjones@albanymission.com.

Attached is Fr Rob Longbottom’s final report/re-cap of the Diocese’s Youth Mission trip to Ireland at the beginning of July. For those who followed the reports from Tracy and Robert, this expand on some of their reports and provide new info on our Youth Missioner and their chaperones.
