  Here is the updated information for Bishop Love’s visits to the Deaneries to meet with the clergy and laity to discuss General Convention 2009. Meetings will end by 9 PM:

Installation of the Rev Mark Michael as Rector, Christ Church, Cooperstown is this Sunday, August 30. Service begins at 4:30 PM. For clergy desiring to process, alb with white stole. For those using GPS devices, Christ’s Church Address is 69 Fair Street, zip code 13326.

 

Clergy Conference Registration and Information . Registration form and conference information is available on the Diocesan Website. Clergy may register online or print and mail their registration form and payment. Conference is Monday, September 21 beginning with Eucharist at 5 PM through lunch Wednesday, September 23. Forms, tentative agenda, and guest speaker’s bio have been emailed. Hard copies will be sent to those without email. Bishop Mark Lawrence is our guest presenter along with his wife Allison.

 

New Confirmation Curriculum Update . The confirmation curriculum committee has posted the new confirmation curriculum guide on the diocesan website at http://albanydiocese.org/ConfirmationGuide2009.pdf . The curriculum includes the list of topics for all the lessons and some information on planning and preparation. September 1 st is our deadline to post the first 12 lessons of the curriculum. Your prayers for healing and a timely recovery are invited for Sarah, daughter of Fr. Fred and Diane Leach, (Vicar, St. Luke’s, Mechanicville) who had surgery on Monday, August 24.

 

Your prayers are invited for healing of a broken hand and a speedy recovery for the Rev. Nina George Hacker, Rector, St. Christopher’s, Cobleskill. She broke her hand while moving into their new home in Cobleskill.

 

Your prayers are invited for Tammy Garno, wife of Dcn Art Garno and mother of Fr. Scott Garno. She will undergo surgery in Burlington, VT on September 3.

 

Thank you for your prayers for Fr. John P. Thompson. His surgery went quite well. The doctors were able to repair vice replace his heart valve. This will result in a quicker recovery. Please keep Fr. Thompson in your prayers for healing, a speedy recovery, and a timely return to the pulpit.

 

Thank you for your prayers for Patty, Fr. Ed LaCombe’s sister-in-law who had emergency surgery earlier this week. The fear was cancer which it was not. Please continue to pray for healing and a timely recovery.
