Diocesan Holy Hour and Benediction for the month of October will take place in St. Mary's Chapel at the CSM Convent in Greenwich on Thursday, October 8 at 10:30 am.  Lunch ($8.50) will be available in the Trinity Dining Room of the SLC following the Holy Hour.

The Safeguarding God's Children Seminars will be presented this Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 9a-1p at St Stephen's Episcopal Church (www.ststephensdelmar.org), 16 Elsmere Ave, Delmar, NY 12054-2100. These are open to all clergy, lay leaders and church workers within the Diocese. St. Stephen’s is including lunch. Please call the church at (518) 439-3265 to register your attendees.

The Sisters of St. Mary routinely gather for study, and are opening one of their internal classes to the larger diocese and public.  Dan Herzog will present a series of lectures on liturgical theology entitled “ Christian Prayer—Theology—Liturgy—Life” on selected Tuesdays at the convent this fall.  The first class was held in September and subsequent classes will be on October 13, 20, & 27, November 3 & 10.  Topics include (but are not limited to) the Divine Office, the Sacraments, the Year of Grace as reflected in Feasts and Seasons, Monastic vs. Cathedral styles in worship, the Churches of the East and West, popular piety, the Reform, liturgies of Holy Week and Easter and Lectio Divina.  Lectures are held at the Convent and begin around 1:30 p.m. These are open to anyone.

 

Diocese Missions Conference is Saturday, October 24 at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center. Conference begins at 9 AM and concludes at 4 PM. Come learn about past overseas and domestic missions and opportunities for participation in future missions. Advance registration is strongly encouraged. There will be a regional confirmation at the Cathedral of All Saints on Saturday , October 31. Services begins at 11 AM. Those being confirmed and received should plan on arriving by 9:30 for a rehearsal and meeting with the Bishop. Clergy presenting individuals for confirmation or reception are asked to send the full names of the those being presented and designating whether they are being confirmed or received. The names should be sent by October 22 to Ray Rockwell at rrockwell@albanydiocese.org with a copy to Canon Carroll at jcarroll@albanydiocese.org. This redundancy is important in case one of them is unable to access the names.

 

Christ Episcopal Church, Herkimer, is holding a HEALING MISSION, on Saturday, November 14 from 9 – 4. This special day will include healing prayer, worship, music and fellowship. The Rev. Bishop Love will ordain Deacon Geraldine Clemmons to the priesthood on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at St. John’s, Cohoes. The service begins at 4 PM. Dcn Clemmons will also be installed as Rector, St. John’s, Cohoes.

 ritesong – this is a searchable music library which includes the Hymnal 1982 & service music, Lift Every Voice and Sing II, and 5 books, lyrics only options, and MP3 sound samples. $1.99 a song or annual subscription bases on Average Sunday Attendance (ASA). RiteBrain is the old CD version.

 ritetime – This is NEW. It is an online schedule builder (calendar) that allows a parish to have an online calendar for scheduling events and facilities and allows users to make requests electronically, and when the event is authorized, electronic notification is sent to participants. Annual subscription based on ASA.

 riteworship – This is NEW. It is an online bulletin builder which will include BCP, Hymnal 1982 and more, lay-out tools, and other features. Allows you to “build” the bulletin online and save. The rector and administrative assistant preparing the bulletin do not need to be in the same location. The bulletin is prepared and stored online. Annual subscription based on ASA.

 riteformation – This is NEW. It is an online curriculum builder which will include scripture, song, prayer, easy to use, search, and download formatted lesson plans. Need to check the website for full details. Annual subscription based on ASA.

 

Rite Stuff 1.6 – This is a downloadable Rite Brain, Rite Song, Rite Word, and Rite Lite for those who want these on their own computer. $495. Go to www.churchpublishing.org/eproducts.
