Diocesan Update Addendum – December 6th
Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
Father Nigel has been moved to a rehabilitation facility and is steadily regaining strength. Your continued prayers for Immediate and complete healing of Fr. Nigel’s bed sore and lungs, immediate relief from the dizziness and nausea, and peace to Lynn as she aids in Fr. Nigel’s recovery.
Fr. Nigel’s parents have sent the following message: “We realize there is a load of hard slog for Nigel - but he is so determined to get back into life again. David and I so want to thank everyone of those who have and are continuing in prayer for him and Lynn. It's a long time now and their commitment is so heartwarming ----- and LOOK what prayer is achieving. God is faithful and He is doing such great things We do want also to send our appreciation to Torre & Jean Bissell who have obviously had a big part in all this. THANK YOU - THANK YOU. Your prayers for healing are invited for Tish Kelly, wife of Fr John Kelly, who fell and broke her wrist on Tuesday and had surgery on Friday.
Your prayers for healing are invited for Dcn Al Moser, Christ Church Ballston Spa, who is recovering from surgery earlier this week.
Thank you for your prayers for Joella Biddle, wife of Deacon Blair Biddle, St. Paul’s, Keeseville, following her hip surgery. She was discharged from the rehabilitation facility on the day after Thanksgiving and is “She is really scooting right along now with that walker on her brand new right hip!!!”
The Diocesan Offices will be closed on Tuesday afternoon from noon to 4 PM, December 8 th for Safeguarding God’s People training.
The Albany Diocesan Holy Hour and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament for December will take place in St. Mary's Chapel at the CSM Convent in Greenwich on Thursday, December 10 at 10:30 am. Lunch ($8.50) following is available in the Trinity Dining Room of the SLC.

This coming Saturday, December 12, Bishop Love will ordain Tom Malionek, Tyler Slade, Kyle Tomlin, Jake Dell, and Nate Lee as transitional deacons at the Cathedral of All Saints. The service begins at 11 AM. For clergy, alb with red stole, and those desiring to process should arrive by 10:30.
Saturday afternoon, December 12, the Rev. Paul Blanch will be instituted as the new rector of St. George’s Church, Schenectady. The service begins at 4PM. Clergy - alb with white stole.
Sunday afternoon, December 13, the Rev Nixon McMillan will be instituted as the new rector of St. Paul’s. Albany. The service begins at 4 PM. Clergy – alb with red stole.
Saturday afternoon, January 9, 2010, Bishop Love will institute the Rev. Richard Lehmann as the new rector of St. Matthews Church, Latham. The service begins at 11 AM.
Saturday afternoon, January 9, 2010, Bishop Love will ordain Deacon Scott Evans to the Sacred Priesthood at Christ Church, Ballston Spa. The service begins at 4 PM. Clergy white stoles.
Sunday afternoon, January 10, 2010, there will be a regional confirmation service at Trinity Church, Plattsburgh. The service begins at 4:30 PM. Parishes planning to present individuals for confirmation or reception should send the individuals’ names to the Diocesan Office (rrockwell@albanydiocese.org cc: tgeorge@albanydiocese.org) and to Trinity, Plattsburg (churchoffice@trinityplattsburgh.com) so they know how many are coming. Names are needed by Tuesday, January 5.
Ordination Exams will be administered at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center, January 4-7, 2010. Please keep the candidates in your prayers.
Bishop Love will attend the Province II Bishops Meeting January 11 – 13, 2010.
The Rev Jim French has been called as Rector, St. Luke’s, Cambridge. He begins January 1 and the date of his institution has not been announced.

One more Lessons & Carols announcement : Christ Church, Ballston Spa will hold its 16th annual Festival of Lessons and Carols, featuring John Kirk and Trish Miller on Monday, December 14 and Tuesday December 15 at 7:30pm . Christ Church is at the corner of Rte. 50 and Rte. 67, in Ballston Spa.
