Diocesan Update - March 19, 2010
Jane Kaulfuss, widow of the Reverend Charles Kaulfuss, died on St. Patrick’s Day. There will be no calling hours and a graveside service will be held in the spring in Glens Falls. Fr. Kaulfauss was the rector of St. Stephen’s, Delmar for 35 years. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Pellitier and her sons Mark, Michael, and Stephen Kaulfuss.
Rest eternal grant unto her, O Lord; let light perpetual shine upon her.
Almighty God, Father of all mercies and giver of comfort: Deal graciously, we pray, with all who mourn; that, casting all their care on you, they may know the consolation of your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen (BCP pg 505)
The spring House of Bishop’s Meeting begins this Friday, March 19 and ends Wednesday, March 24. Bishop Love is traveling today and next Thursday. Please keep him and the other Bishops in your daily prayers during the HOB meeting.
Holy Week Chrism Masses are one of the most important gatherings for the ordained in the church year and are an opportunity to encourage one another in our vocation. All active and retired clergy and their spouses, and surviving spouses are invited to attend one of the Chrism Masses. Clergy vesture is cassock, alb, and white stole. The service will include the renewal of ordination vows. Clergy will be able to take oil and chrism home with them. You are invited to stay for dinner (lunch in Tupper Lake) immediately after the service. The courtesy of an RSVP will be greatly appreciated by the host rectors.

Parish Parochial Reports were due to the Episcopal Church Center on March 1. As of this week only 38 had been filed. The reports were mailed directly to the parishes from the Episcopal Church Center and the data is useful to both the Diocese and Episcopal Church. If your parochial report was not received or subsequently misplaced, you may download the form and instructions at http://www.episcopalchurch.org/109378_105232_ENG_HTM.htm . Please contact Joan Ecker at jecker@albanydiocese.org if your parish did receive the report. She will contact the Research Department of the Church Center to verify if they have the correct mailing address for your parish.
