Diocesan Update - May 7, 2010
You are invited to join the Mission Committee of the Diocese of Albany at “A Gathering for Missions” on Saturday, May 22 nd from 9am to 4pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 146 First Street, Troy. Our guest speakers include: The Right Rev. Todd McGregor, Bishop of Toliara, Madagascar; and his wife The Rev. Patsy McGregor; The Revs. Shaw & Julia Mudge, missionaries in Peru; and The Rev. Michael and Linda Chapman, the recently elected Suffragan Bishop of Peru. The event will include discussion groups with members of diocese sponsored mission teams sharing their recent and upcoming missions. A buffet lunch will be served. A program schedule is available by e-mail. There is ample parking available across from the church. A small donation to the Diocese General Mission Fund would be appreciated.
The Upper Hudson Deanery will hold an Ascension Day Service & Picnic, Thursday, May 13th at 6 PM at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center (Helipad). Bishop Herzog will con-celebrate with clergy of the Deanery. So, if your parish does not have a service scheduled, come join with other clergy and laity from the Deanery. Bring something to share for the picnic, and a lawn chair if you don't want to sit on the grass. Clergy Alb and White Stole. In case of rain, service will be in the Chapel. The May Diocesan Holy Hour will take place in St. Mary's Chapel at the CSM Convent in Greenwich beginning at 10:30 am. on May 13th. Lunch ($8.50+tax) is available in the Trinity Dining Room of the SLC following the Holy Hour.
Bishop Love will ordain Kathryn Boswell, Rose Ann Felty, John Inserra, Randolph Lukas, Hannah Mudge, and Christina Vance as deacons on Saturday, June 5 at the Cathedral of All Saints. The service begins at 11 am. Clergy: red stoles.
